The Micke series and this workstation in particular represents every stereotype in the popular imagination about Ikea. Frustrating to assemble, modern looking, and not designed to last.

The series uses hollow core tops and sides covered in an unbelievably fragile foil surface treatment. If you put something down hard you will gouge it. If you drop a hardcover book from the upper shelves it will puncture the work surface. If you use a mouse without a pad you will have a clearly obvious wear mark within six months.

Embarrassing junk. I bought this and the the wide desk – which is now noticeably bowed in the middle – a year and a half ago and have just sent them to the curb.
